You may already know this, but still, let me just say it.
If you’re going to World Internet Summit in Singapore next weekend, you’re in for a ride. Firstly, there are so many big names at this event that just seeing them would probably inspire you enough to carry on with your Internet home business for a few months.
Let’s see, there are the founders of this event:
Then there is the small army of Internet marketing gurus:
Then there are the featured speakers, who will probably be on live video conferencing (what, you thought they’re actually speaking on stage?):
I paid SGD197 for tickets, and inclusive of travel and accommodation it will probably come up to SGD400+. I won’t be surprised that a number of people are getting in for free.
After attending AIMS and WIS in Kuala Lumpur less than a year ago, I told myself that I won’t be going for any seminars this year. So why am I, and what can you expect if you’re a first-timer?
First you need to understand the business model of the World Internet Summit series. Instead of being a seminar about how to make money online, it’s a showcase of seminars on how to make money online. Every speaker on stage runs their own seminar business, and at the end of each presentation they will sell you their own seminars.
That’s why the price is lower than most other established seminars on Internet marketing - they only need to cover the overhead costs.
Very smart, indeed.
But that’s not a bad thing, if you understand that World Internet Summit isn’t the actual seminar. It’s an event where they sell seminars.
I don’t think it will be as annoying as WIS KL since they have lesser speakers, but I wonder what they are going to do over 4 days - I haven’t managed to get hold of the schedule yet.
There’s no doubt though that you can enormous amount of content from the speakers, but often the speakers are experts in different areas on Internet marketing, and the end result as I mentioned in my previous post, can be a massive headache ![]()
If you’re going to WIS Singapore, do this:
- If you’re serious about signing up for any of the packages, I suggest that you read about the speakers and their business model.
- Determine what you need, and choose before you get into WIS because as you might expect the speakers are all excellent marketers and you don’t want to be pitting your wits against them
- If you know absolutely nothing about making money online, I suggest you do with whatever Ewen Chia is offering (probably related to affiliate marketing) as I believe his package is the best value for money, and the most appropriate for newbies.
- If you’re an intermediate marketer, I’d suggest anything by John Childers or Mike Filsaime
- If you’re an advanced marketer perhaps try Stephen Pierce or don’t buy any of the packages at all. Take the breaks to have your own mini-seminar and sign-up new members for YOUR program… lol
So don’t say we didn’t tell you.
Me? I’m going there on holiday

One should have clear objectives and expectations especially attending this kind of seminar/summit.Based on my past experience, Many of this(seminars)end up ‘previewing’.I prefer to attend workshops in which i can learn a lot.
I will be attending the summit from the comfort of my own home here in England UK using Online Streaming Video. Now whoever said technology doesn’t buy you convinience.
Really? And do you have to pay for that?
Yes. I paid $97 for the priviledge.
Hey Gobala,
The previous WIS that I attended cost me over Rm 2k ! and they still backend their products after each presentation.
Here is the schedule.
