Top 10 Most Useful "Make Money Blogging" Blogs

While I was researching on people who love to blog and prime reasons for which they have one, I was surprised to find that blogging is now often termed as “money making” by casual Internet users. They have a strong feeling that they can earn magically just by creating a free blog and monetizing it with Adsense and similar ad display programs.

However, they stay away from the fact that money making by blogging is not a child’s play. I do not deny the fact that a few people, in recent times have done well with Adsense and other affiliate programs, but thinking of becoming another Darren Rowse, or anywhere close to him is somewhat analogous to taming a squirrel!

Several pro blogger’s have always recommended to concentrate on content than ads, if at all you wish to have blogging as your day job. If you have a few minutes to spare, there is a good illustration here. You really need to eye on certain key aspects to help your blog pay your bills, for that matter.

Some of them include,

  • Originality
  • Quality
  • Consistency
  • Patience
  • SEO

Other factors include a good social network, communication with visitors through comments, and capability to analyze the movements of the niche you are concentrating on.

Having mentioned the facts about blogging for money, I would like to share my work which lists – Top 20 Most Useful “Make Money Blogging” Blogs.

Here we go:

1. ProBlogger

problogger

One stop to all your money making through blogging needs! By far the best money-making web guides, I have ever come across. Apart from originality, the amount of research involved in a post is exorbitant. The writing style is appealing and there is no doubt about Darren’s bird eye view of the blog-O-sphere. A must have RSS feed for your feed reader.

2. Shoemoney

shoemoney

The name says the most of it! Shoemoney is another well known website with a huge list of RSS subscribers worldwide. The author, Jeremy is well known in his niche for the dynamics he brings up in his articles and the concept he has about marketing a website or product, for that matter.

Daniel once wrote an interesting article comparing Darren vis-a-vis Jeremy! Do have a look. Shoemoney is another wild card entry to your RSS reader!

Why The MMO Blogging Industry Is Becoming A Pain In The A$$!

Guys, I really really just about had it with the MMO (make money online) industry. Not that I mingle there at all, I gave that up months ago when I realized that to preserve my integrity I had to concentrate on things that actually make me money and try to help others with my “wisdom”.

MMO industry

In the last few months there has been a storm brewing on the Internet and I believe this storm will continue to build until it becomes a full force hurricane.

I’m talking about people (bloggers) like me who are sick of all the bull$hit that goes on in the MMO niche and are starting to speak up. Is it right or wrong, well, you will be the judge, as no doubt there will be some for it and some against (most likely those who are the ones taking unsuspecting people for a ride).

My pet hate are those people who blog about the MMO niche pretending they are the bees knees while in fact they really don’t have an idea themselves. But they continue to lie their ways through their blogs to the newcomers, being fully aware that it will pay them a monthly income. Then there are many A-listers who continue to trade integrity for a pocket full of cash, but you can read all about this and more in the 3 articles below.

Do yourselves a favor and read those posts if you are new to the online money game. Even if you are one of the people who spends half their income on worthless ebooks every month, check those out.

I want you to read the following posts, since I really don’t want to repeat what has already been said.

Posts you ought to read if you don’t want to waste unnecessary time, effort and money:

How do you feel about the whole scenario? Are you even aware of the fact that there is a war going on in the blogosphere right now?

This could become interesting.

Earn RM4,000 Monthly With Our Affiliate Program

One very popular question I get is "How Much Money Can I Make Promoting Internet Millionaires Club?"

To answer this question, for the whole month of February I marketed IMC using my affiliate link for testing purposes just to see how much money an affiliate can make marketing this site.

 imc-comission-potential

I have censored other affiliate’s data for privacy, but you can see that the affiliate ID I created for myself where I generated USD 249.12 commissions for the entire month,or roughly about RM800. But, that’s just the first month!

The Internet Millionaires Club affiliate program pays you 40% commissions per month, which means that you can make monthly income from just one sale for as long as the sale is active. Lets assume that only 80% of members renew their membership every month for the next 6 months.

So, if I keep up with my marketing efforts exactly as it is, I can continue to generate RM800 in new sales every month plus RM640 from my previous month’s sale. After 6 months, this is how much I can be earning:

  • Month 1: RM800
  • Month 2: RM800 + RM640 = RM1,440
  • Month 3: RM800 + RM1,280 = RM2,080
  • Month 4: RM800 + RM1,920 = RM2,720
  • Month 5: RM800 + RM2,560 = RM3,360
  • Month 6: RM800 + RM3,200 = RM4,000

In total, for 6 months you can logically make a total of RM13,600 and after that you can even make more.

There are a few reasons why our affiliate program is a great choice for you to make money online:

  • I, Gobala Krishnan have a proven track record of making money online and at any give time I can show complete proof of how much I make – and people already know this!
  • This site is uniquely catered to the needs of Malaysians, and you will not find any other site like this one
  • My copywriting skills, and the use of audio / video presentations, will ensure that anyone you send to the sales page will be interested, and about 3% will sign-up.
  • We can pay you via Paypal (USD) or Ringgit Malaysia check (coming soon) at the end of every month as long as you balance is more than USD10.00
  • Instead of getting paid only once per sale, you get paid every month for your referred sale until the sale is canceled by the member

In the next few posts, I’ll share a little information with you on how to promote IMC both online and offline, using a few targeted and effective strategies that I have used to accomplish my own results.

Our affiliate program is open to members only, so sign-up now.

Our Little Internet Millionaires Club Keeps Growing

When I first started InternetMillionares.com.my I was a bit skeptical.

I wasn’t really sure if I should spend my time catering to the Malaysian market, since:

  • I can literally make 3 times more with the same information marketed to a US-based crowd like I do with WordPress Adsense System – most Malaysians are shocked when they convert USD97 to RM310 but I’m getting at least 1-2 sale per day from the international market
  • I was already getting pretty irritated with the Malaysian mentality after 2 years of dealing with lazy bums who cannot make up their own mind or take responsibility for their actions
  • Even Patric Chan (the last time I spoke to him was in World Internet Summit Singapore) said that he had given up on the Malaysian market, probably due to the same 2 reasons above. Personally I don’t blame him..

Still I wanted to contribute something locally and thus started moving Malaysian-related content away from my personal blog and started this site. I wasn’t 100% sure of the response I was going to get even though Patric himself joked that I am more famous than he is (in Malaysia at least).

But the signs are good.

imc-alexa

Overall, this site has slowly but consistently risen up the traffic charts on Alexa, to about 74,000 right now. Not bad considering some people are below Alexa 100,000 even after a year of blogging.

imc-analytics

In terms of actual traffic, Google Analytics also shows a significant improvement from the same period last month, although I actually forgot to put the codes on some high traffic pages and I just corrected that mistake yesterday :)

imc-countries

94.8% of visitors are from Malaysia. Geo-targeting seems to be working, with the .com.my domain name and the site targeting using Google Webmaster tools. Basically I’m trying to tell Google that my site is super-targeted to Malaysia.

imc-silver

Show me the money!

Finally, I’d say we’re adding about 2 new Silver members per day, which is good but still below my target of 5 new members / day. I have to refine my advertising and hopefully with my new media strategy and the launch of my much-delayed book, this will happen easily.

So for all Silver members, fear not. I’m not going to abandon my project, and this site isn’t going to disappear.

I wanted to start a strong Internet marketing community in Malaysia as I strongly believe that I can do that. If you attended the last mastermind session and you’re happy with what you got, let me tell you that was just 20% of what I had in mind to achieve.

More good things coming your way!

Why Some Malaysians Have The Wrong Mentality

Over the past 2 years meeting a lot of Malaysians who want to make money online, I’ve only met a handful of people with the right mentality about making money online. The rest of them just don’t have it takes to be successful online, and the number one reason is the way they think.

Watch this video to discover what I think separates the people who succeed, from those who never will. Get the YouTube version if you want to put this videos on our blog.

Are You Blogging in The Make Money Online Niche?

rbc4_40 You’ve read couple of blog and even bought a blogging course like WordPress Adsense System. You’re all pumped up to start your first blog and guess what topic comes to mind?

“How to make money online!”

This is by far the most popular niche market most new bloggers enter, mostly without any research and with no real uniqueness or direction in mind. I’ve once wondered why most people choose this topic when there are literally thousands of easier niche markets to enter as a new blogger, either to make money from Google Adsense of from affiliate marketing.

I guess most people do it for the following reasons:

  • This is a really compelling topic – When you’re spending all your time online trying to make money online, you’d naturally feel attracted to the topic of “Making money online”
  • You thought it would be easy - Yes, you thought it would be easy to make a lot of money from this market, as compared to other niche markets there are certainly more products you can promote as an affiliate in this niche.

The “Make money online” market can really be profitable, provided you can do the following:

  • Find a more targeted niche within the “Make money online” niche, for example video marketing, audio product creation, Adsense,
  • Go one inch wide and one mile deep. Find a small but targeted market, but go really really deep into the market with your information. In short, become the best source of information for that small niche, and dominate it
  • Research the growth potential of your topic, and make sure that you’re not on a sinking boat. For example, look at the graph below from Google Trends and you’ll see that this blog has the potential to grow in the future. Type in a specific keyword in Google Trends, and if your graph is on the decline it’s probably not a good idea to start a blog on the topic.

So what do you do if you’ve already started a blog on “How to make money online”?

Well for starters, you need to redefine your content and direction. The “make money online” topic is too general and while it can be profitable, as a newbie it would be better for you to find a smaller, “nichier” topic. In fact, it’s easier to make money from smaller topics within the “make money online” market itself.

Secondly, read this post by Andrew Pavelski on “How to Survive in The Make Money Online Niche”. He shares a few valuable tips on what you need to focus on to get the results you’re looking for.

What Are Your Intentions with Blogging?

I know, most probably it is to make money – right? If it is, then have you got a plan? See, when starting out on any blog it is helpful to have a plan in order to help us move along. Admittedly the plan can be changed along the way, but if there is no plan it means no revenue.

I’m using my own blog to become a well known blogger and freelance writer and hopefully one day I will earn enough money to be financially free. That is the plan and currently I’m right on track with the Intention of quitting my twice a week day job for good by July 2008. Ideally would be to help my husband quit his job for good too, but that’s a story in the making I guess and if I don’t at least try, then I’ll never know.

But doing this isn’t the only plan I have. I also have a backup plan. Actually several. One of them is to develop my own products and the other is to use niche marketing (not IM related) to earn residual income.

I know that as a writer I won’t be earning residual income and neither will I as a blogger. Unless of course I’ll get traffic like TechCrunch and earn tons of money from advertising. Then I could employ other writers and make a guest appearance every now and then whilst focusing on building my empire.

With the growth of the Internet it is very much possible for any of us to achieve such a rate of success.

dollar house1

But in order to get there you will need a plan. And then stick to it. At least until your honeymoon period has passed (3-6 month) and you are well on your way to become a regular and consistent blogger.

Any blog that consists of good written content cannot do no worse than attracting at least some decent advertisers in the long run due to its growth and Page Rank. Even if Google ever got rid of PR the blog would still grow to be an authority in its field as most bloggers will give up eventually.

If you have a plan, then why not share it with all of us here in the comments section? I would love to hear yours.
