Stop Using Weird Nicknames In Your Emails
Would you trust an email from someone called BrownEyes? Probably not.
That’s because when doing business, people want to know your REAL name, not some weird nickname. Using a nickname only implies that you don’t want others to know who you really are.
I think it’s rather funny how people miss this simple yet powerful point to promote yourself as a professional marketer and at the same time efforlessly promote your newsletter, website or affiliate products.
The worst part: some people don’t even know how their emails appear to their readers or prospects.
If you don’t believe me see for yourself how your email might appear in someone else’s mailbox. Just send an email from your personal email address to your work address to see how it looks like. Here is how some of the emails I get appear in my mailbox:

Check your email today, and correct these simple mistakes. First impressions carry a lot of weight, so don’t give people any reason to doubt you. Here are the basic things every email should have, no matter if you’re sending it to a friend or to your prospect:
- Name - Full name, or a shortened version of your name
- Email subject - Never leave the subject header blank
- Salutation - Hi, Greetings, Hello etc…
- Signature - Optional, but if you ask me every email is a chance for you to get more customers and visitors to your website.
If you’re using a free email service like Yahoo / Gmail / Hotmail, explore it to find out how you can change the sender name.
Get the basics right, and you’ll instantly appear more peofessional and trustworthy. Remember doing business on the Internet is all about TRUST, and nobody will give that to you easily.
