Steve Irwin Killed By Stingray

Steve Irwin

I never thought this would happen. Steve Irwin died yesterday, killed by a stingray while filming off the Great Barrier Reef.

According to Yahoo news:

Irwin was at Batt Reef, off the remote coast of northeastern Queensland state, shooting a segment for a series called “Ocean’s Deadliest” when he swam too close to one of the animals, which have a poisonous barb on their tails, his friend and colleague John Stainton said.

“He came on top of the stingray and the stingray’s barb went up and into his chest and put a hole into his heart,” said Stainton, who was on board Irwin’s boat at the time.

Crew members aboard the boat, Croc One, called emergency services in the nearest city, Cairns, and administered CPR as they rushed the boat to nearby Low Isle to meet a rescue helicopter. Medical staff pronounced Irwin dead when they arrived a short time later, Stainton said.

I love watching Discovery channel, and so often amused by the crazy things this guy did. Steve started a whole new trend in widlife filming and made watching animal all the more exciting. I’m sure going to miss his show. He died doing what he loved, so god bless his soul.

I was genuinly shocked to hear about the death of Steve. I bet what happened was he got a grip of it and said “Your all right mate” and it stuck him.

I really enjoyed watching his programmes, he was a terrific showman. The guy knew what he was doing in a dangerous environment I guess he just misjudged it on that day.

quite a brutal death though.
getting pierced through the heart with a stingray barb.

although i never got into his crocodile hunter shows, i always could feel a sense of his passion for his work.

as internet marketers, if we can harness that same level of enthusiasm, energy and perserverance as steve, we’ll certainly go far.

Here’s to you, Steve, you’ve lead a wonderful life.

We have lost one of the most great and wonderful guy. I’ve always amazed with the way Steve Irwin handle the animals especially the crocs. May be we won’t meet anybody like him in 10-20 years!
