This especially goes out to anyone who just built their first website and wants to get it indexed by search engines. My advice: don’t buy ANY search engine submission software or service.
Search engine submissions is exaggerated bullshit. You don’t need a software that will submit to “1000 search engines and directories” because:
- There are only 3 major SE worth worrying about – Google, MSN and Yahoo. The rest are either just aggregators that derive their results from these engines, or they are too small to bother with.
- Search engines rather find you – Google prefers to find you “accidently” rather than have you throw your site at them every day. Careful, some SE submission may get your site banned by submitting it too often to the point that it’s considered spamming the search engines.
All you really need to do to get your site indexed is to get a link back to your site from an existing website. How fast your site gets indexed depends on how popular the other site is. The more popular, the more SE spiders will visit the site, and find the link to YOUR website, and index it as well.
My main promotion strategy for my new guide on using Paypal and Clickbank in Malaysia is to get free search engine traffic. All I did was link to it from this blog, and also several other high-traffic blogs. When I visit someone else’s blog, I leave a comment and my website URL. The search engine spiders that visit their blogs will come to my site because of the link, and index my site as well. As long as I am targetting the correct keywords, my site will also rank high in the SE results.

ABOVE: Google and other search engines picked up and indexed my site.
BELOW: I rank #2 in Yahoo for “paypal in malaysia” and #1 for “clickbank in malaysia”.

So the moral of this story is: Search engine submissions are bullshit. You don’t need to submit. If you understand the fundamentals of how the Internet works, search engines will find you, index your site, and rank your site well.
Don’t waste your money and time
