hi malcom ~ U r such a nice person, u doing good job to help clearing other ppl doubt about paypal~ really good to have u here~
however i have a noob question here~:P

When i wan to pay my supplier in oversea, he will charge me 3.9% + 0.9 usd ~

so , if i am using maybank debit card , will i be charge again 3.9% + RM2 for cross border transaction???

thx who ever can clear my doubt ~ thx

Im having same issue like others.I currently have to pay someone who already send me an invoice on paypal. i have sufficient ammount on maybank acc. but the message “Sorry, your payment won’t go through. To make it work, you’ll need to add money to your account and pay with your PayPal balance.” appear.

need help…..

@spawnkumar – you can purchase online without “adding funds” to your Paypal account. Everytime you make a purchase online, Paypal will charge your Maybank Visa debit.
So even if you do not have funds in your Paypal account, you can still make purchases using Paypal, provided that you have added your debit card to Paypal.
So answer to your questions:

Do i need insufficent balance in my paypal account to buy things?

If it is how should i increase the fund in my paypal account so i can do payment ? Or is it directly get deducted from my debitcard account ?
It will be deducted directly from your debit card account.

i dont think can ADD FUND in my paypal as i received below msg…buyers if credit card its charges directly from account i think….
how about debit card ?

ok last week i have applied maybank visa debit…
so i have done MSOS process in maybank2u then linked the card at paypal at last verified the card with 4digit codes i received from paypal to maybank2u.

18-Oct-2009 REV PREAUTH XXXXPAYPAL–*EXPUSE DATED 15/10/09 US$1.95 RM6.71
18-Oct-2009 SALE 0800PAYPAL–*EXPUSE DATED 15/10/09 US$1.95 RM6.60
15-Oct-2009 PREAUTH SALE XXXXPAYPAL–*EXPUSE DATED 15/10/09 US$1.95 RM6.71
15-Oct-2009 PREAUTH SALE PAYPAL DATED 15/10/09 US$1.00 RM1.02

so above was the “Debit card history” transaction that took part during the verification…
so in my paypal account i can see… PayPal balance: $1.95 USD

so now if i purchase any stuffs online and want to do payment via paypal…. how the transactions will be…
