To those of you who could not attend my wedding on September 01, 2008 – here’s the video of it for your viewing pleasure.
Video produced by GregsVideo.com and was perhaps one of the best decisions I made for my wedding. Both my wife and me were initially very excited about getting married, until my parent stepped in and almost ruined everything for me.
They keep insisting I do things their way, according to “our culture”, and before I knew it the entire wedding was heading off in a different direction. I’m sorry to say I never really followed Indian culture, as I find it rather outdated and shallow. Now I’m being forced into it, like it or not.
A lot arguments later (more like a war) they finally got their way but I decided to get a good video producer so I can have better memories of what’s supposed to be the most important day of my life.
My wife Sheila and me have been going out since February 2006, and after almost 2 years we got engaged. Legally, we were married on 28th May this year. However the cultural ceremonies didn’t take place till 1st September this year.
Sheila works as a journalist for New Straits Times, and she loves her job.
I thank everyone who attended my wedding, and the lunch reception in Melaka on the 14th. It really felt good seeing you guys there.
With all the wedding-related arguments now a thing of the past, I look forward to a happy life with Sheila. This video will be one of the most important things for us to remember our wedding, and I’m sure you’ll agree with me the memories look really good

Congratulations Gobala.
I wish you and your beautiful wife a lifetime of happiness.
I hope that now you have had time to reflect you see that having the traditional wedding was so much better, not only because it means you are good people for respecting your parents and family but because of the beautiful memories it created.
May I ask, what was your preferred alternative? Would it have produced the treasured memories that your beutiful ceremony left you with?
As a non religious person i found the 7 minutes of footage above really really beautiful and wish that my wife and I had such a memory. We have our own of course, but we both agree that your traditional wedding was amazing.
All the best to you and your family
Iain

Hi Gobal, congratulation, wish you all the best and happy married life.
Dear Bala,
Nice wedding video. Indian customs and traditions live in Malaysia. Very Happy to see that when things are changing so much in India in the so called modernisation trend.
Hope you spread the message of keeping our traditions and culture alive at least to keep our following generations to know where we came from. Kudos to you again Bala
Hi Bala,
This is the moment I have been waiting to congrats u…
watched the video when melvin showed yesterday but can’t wait to watch again. I would said this is a perfect works done by your video crew.
Yeah, it is never been easier when come to wedding ceremoney. Parents always want to give their opinions when come to this big event.
Sorry for not able to attend your wedding due to the busy works from my blogging bootcamp and my baby girl not feeling well, especially the 2nd reason. Once you have your own bab(ies), you will tends to give most of your time. Trust me, you would love too.
So, make use of these 2 years (as your plan) to travel as many places as possible and stay at home for the next 2 – 5 years at home.
Wish you all the best in marriage … may god bless you abundantly in all the area.
