My Wedding Video

To those of you who could not attend my wedding on September 01, 2008 - here’s the video of it for your viewing pleasure.

Video produced by GregsVideo.com and was perhaps one of the best decisions I made for my wedding. Both my wife and me were initially very excited about getting married, until my parent stepped in and almost ruined everything for me.

They keep insisting I do things their way, according to “our culture”, and before I knew it the entire wedding was heading off in a different direction. I’m sorry to say I never really followed Indian culture, as I find it rather outdated and shallow. Now I’m being forced into it, like it or not.

A lot arguments later (more like a war) they finally got their way but I decided to get a good video producer so I can have better memories of what’s supposed to be the most important day of my life.

My wife Sheila and me have been going out since February 2006, and after almost 2 years we got engaged. Legally, we were married on 28th May this year. However the cultural ceremonies didn’t take place till 1st September this year.

Sheila works as a journalist for New Straits Times, and she loves her job.

I thank everyone who attended my wedding, and the lunch reception in Melaka on the 14th. It really felt good seeing you guys there.

With all the wedding-related arguments now a thing of the past, I look forward to a happy life with Sheila. This video will be one of the most important things for us to remember our wedding, and I’m sure you’ll agree with me the memories look really good :)

Hey, Gobala, good video there and cograts to you. Where are you planning to go for your honeymoon?

And, I just skimmed through your new book and I must say, if any newbie want to dive into the world of money making online, that book is the best guide they can get.

And it even better than what most “gurus” sell.

(If you’re a newbie, stop buying any e-books and just give Gobala RM30+ for that book. It worth it ;)

Congratulations Gobala!!

Welcome to the club, finally! hehe :-)

Hope you and your wife will live happily ever after.

Touching on the ‘war’ which you mentioned, hehe, well believe me, I think it happens to almost everyone of us living in this generation, and it happened to me too.

But of course my wife and I kept things cool since we don’t like to get into heated arguments over these things so as to respect our parents.

I’ve asked my friends and family members and almost all of them went through the same phase.. :-(, except those whose parents are no longer around.

Anyway, stay cool always and enjoy your marriage life bro!

Have a great day!

Best Wishes,
Ameer Salim

I think it’s the huge generation gap between people our age and our parents. Sometimes it’s pretty clear no matter how much you explain they are never going to see things the way you see it.

Congratulation! I love your wedding movie.

I just launched my blog at http://www.TJune.com/wordpress .

You can watch my movie as well at http://www.TJune.com, but it is not my wedding movie.
It is my new way to inform my mum that we have baby!

Btw, when is your Millionaire Internet book released? I cannt find at MPH Book store….

You can ask MPH for the title, they should be able to guide you. MPH has thousands of books, last month my books were on “new arrivals” so it was easy to find.

Hey Gobs,

Nice wedding!

Even though Vince, Dennis and I traveled all the way to Melaka, we enjoyed the wedding because it was so unique compared to Chinese weddings… hehe.

And the singing was quite entertaining as well!

Congratulation from me n family.

This is the topic I discuss with one of my survey friend. This year he should be 36 and still no settle down.

There is nothing to enjoy if we still single. Your soul still empty. Once you have your own family with children, you can feel the “parent” taste.

Believe me.

Normal lah, parents will always want to have a say. But it’s nice to have a little bit of culture in it.

Really good cinematic video production. Loved it. The best I have seen so far.

Congratulations Sheila and Gobala. May you be blessed in all your future endeavors together. It is probably a good thing you listened to your parents….. I am sure it was a BIG day for them as well. It his hard to break from customs and I’ll bet you look on this day in the future and maybe understand abit more about where they were coming from. I am proud of you for at least bending a little bit and I want you to mark the words of an old man here, your day will be coming in the future and don’t be surprised how you react to your childrens wedding(s)…. Good Luck in ALL you do……. Jerry

Congratulation to both of you, Gobala and Sheila.

Wonderful wedding video and understand why the parents wanted to have their ways. Yes, to preserve the culture and tradition forever. I can see from the video that you are obedient children.

And now the knot is tied and like the eagle, with two strong wings now bring you to higher height and live…Happily ever after….

Gobala,
Thank you for sharing your special day with us.
In a world of cold internet marketers, it was a joy to see the personal side of one of those I have followed over the years.
May you and Sheila have many happy years together.
I have always been intrigued by other culture’s traditions, and we often only see the result and not the process and compromise that has been part of the path to a specific day. While I sense you had your frustrations, I see your commitment to your new wife and you still made the most of this special day. It is the same passion I have observed in your business.
Thank you for being one of the good guys, and again for sharing.
I will be watching you as you hopefully continue to share your knowledge and experiences with us who have not risen to your level yet.
Best wishes and congratulations from Canada!
Dale
