Learning Stage or Action Stage?

by Gobala Krishnan on June 8, 2007

A lot of people complain that they have spent thousands on the Internet buying ebooks and systems, but never mad a single cent. But did they really TRY to make money?

My friend Sunny Tan did a great post on my forum for Malaysian Internet marketers, and my reply to the post was something like this:

Ask yourself, whether you are in the LEARNING stage, or in the ACTION stage. If you are in the learning stage, go and buy some ebooks, instead of reading bits and pieces from blogs and other people’s sites. It will help you a lot. Buy some software, try to create a new website, learn, learn learn. Try Ebay, try selling ebooks, try a few things, just to see which one you feel is the business model for you.

Not making much money? Nevermind – you’re in the learning stage. If you’re complaining about spending a few hundred ringgit, let me ask you how much you spent on your Degree or Diploma? Have you got back your investment on that? Or is because daddy or PTPTN paid for everything, that you think it was free? Education has never been free, and never will. Not only money, it will take you time to learn new things.

But the LEARNING stage must come to an end sometime. Of course as an Internet marketer you learn new things all the time, but by the time you come to the action stage you already know what business model you want to be in. Adsense sites? Selling Ebooks? Affiliat marketing? Etc etc.
Then just stick to it till you MAKE money. Trust me you will, if you really are in the action stage. By the time you get to the action stage you have already spent a lot of money, and now it’s time to get serious so you can make back your investment and much much more.

Gobala,

“Its not how much you know, its how much you do with what you know”

It doesn’t only apply on internet tools / content, it on everything

Gobala Gee!
Yes its true, I must proclaim very honest theme, no doubt. When we start our job, first day we cant qualify for whole forthcoming tasks, we cant judge what kind of situations we will deal in coming time. Making website and buying e-product is never part of making money, its true to be attached with learning process.

Making money is just like grades of school, where we used to cry without homeworks and play with friends. First grade of learning how to develop website, grade two: learning terminologies of sites, using specific tools and making according to needs of today’s modern era….and this list of grades goes on to graduation and hats off one day (first dollar in your pocket). Commutatively, Grade A+ for this post.
