Cheaper Than Cheap Ebook Covers – An Honest Review

Rating: Highly Recommended (4.7/5)

I was pretty shocked when I came across CheapestCovers.com, run by two guys from Malaysia, Hafiz Latib and Khairulnajmi Fikri Yusoff. Why was I shocked? Well these guys are designing ebook covers for $27 a pop. That’s why I’m calling this review “Cheaper Than Cheap Ebook Covers” because quite frankly I have never met anyone charging such a low price.

What They Do Well

  1. My first cover was delivered very fast, compared to others I have hired in the past.
  2. Designs given in GIF/JPG/PNG in 5 different sizes, including a flat image and side image.
  3. Very good communication and fast response

Overall, they keep to their timeline and promises, and provide a very hassle-free experience. I’m very happy with their service.

What They Need To Improve

  1. Their designs could be improved, but at $27 it’s a very good deal
  2. Their personal representation needs work. I can design a website layout better than what they put out and I’m not even a designer. Just because their service is cheap there’s really no reason to make it look like it’s cheap. Compare: MaxCovers.com

What They Suck At

  1. Nothing

My Final Say

It’s a no brainer. I paid $250+ to design my first ebook cover with Max and with these guys I could have got 10 ebook covers :) Unless I suddenly decide to do all the design work myself, I’ll definitely pay these guys a visit every now and then.

I know it’s not “cool” to put in marketing strategies into a review, but it’s my blog anyway so I’ll do whatever I want :-P

Max designs complete themes and charges much more. The best part is that he puts his signature “Designed by MaxCovers.com” at the bottom of every design and nobody questions this, even the hot-shot Internet marketers he deals with. I didn’t question it either – in fact that’s how I found Max in the first place!

Over time, Max gets free viral traffic, more customers and a better brand name. I think Hafiz & Najmi could do great following his lead. They should also upsell an entire theme (and charge more) like Max does after the customer is satisfied with the ebook design. After all they just need to use the same source files to create the header and footer graphics. Lots of money left on the table here.

Ok ok…enough of the marketing strategies and back to the review…

Good service, and a real passion for what they do. These guys just cut my production costs by 90%.

I highly recommend CheapestCovers.com for any info-publisher.

Finally I got reply from Hafiz and the job done within half day.

Well, I have some reserve here… Paid them US$47 for eCover, sent them numerous emails and no respond at all. It has been a week + versus their 24-36 hours delivery promise!? Luckily I just provided them 1 job.

I’m a bit disappointed with such kind of customer service from Malaysian provider. Going to file dispute through PayPal if no respond Hafiz tomorrow.

@ YC Ng – Check if you’re sending to the correct email address. If you are, then you would definitely need to do something about it to protect your interest.

Yup, I’m agree with you. As I know, C3 is the cheapest ecover design on the net, and proud it is Malaysian. TQ
