My First Video Ever in Bahasa Melayu

Rahsia ClickBank

Earlier this year I decided to launch a few products related to the Malaysia market, something I have not really done since the days of Chapter-M. The first of these projects is Rahsia ClickBank, a fast system to making money from ClickBank designed and developed specifically for Malaysians.

And because of that, a lot of stuff needed to be translated to Bahasa Melayu, including me :)

So today I tried to create a promotional video purely in Bahasa and that’s what I ended up with. Not bad right, but you have no idea how many takes and super-edits I had to do to get just that. It seems I have not really spoken BM in a long time, although I remember it used to be quite good.

Also, it’s pretty difficult to talk about Internet marketing in BM because of all the jargon. I need Dewan Bahasa and Pustaka to attend my internet marketing seminars :)

Buying and Selling Websites for Profit

sunny-tan-small Welcome to our guest speaker for the November BootCamp – Sunny Tan!

Most of you may have already met Sunny, and while Sunny and me started out about the same time, we took very different paths. Suny focused more on building content-driven sites and monetizing them with Google AdSense, helping him earn a 4-figure USD income which eventually gave him the confidence to become a full time Internet marketer starting January 2008.

Sunny eventually discovered that other people are more than willing to pay him thousands of dollars to buy his sites, and hence started a new business model of “flipping” websites for profit.

In this short podcast, Sunny explains how it works and what t expect. To discover more on buying and selling websites for profit, make sure you attend our bootcamp!

Meet Labanon, Malaysian 5-Figure Wonder Kid

Here’s a short video with Labanon, the 17-year old Malaysian Internet marketer who made more than RM10,000 in one month with his e-book called Tip Adsense.

They just keep getting younger and younger, eh?

The interesting part of this interview is the fact that you don’t need to be the expert in order to sell an e-book. In Labanon’s case, he compiled tons of Adsense tips from other Internet marketers and sold it as an e-book. He has also compiled all his secrets into a case study called Rahsia 10K.

Alang @ Samsul Zamzuri Interviewed at JomSeminar

This will be one of the hardest videos to find – an interview with Malaysian internet marketer Samsul Zamzuri or more affectionately know as “Alang”.

In this short video Alang explains how he got started in Internet marketing, and his main business model which now earns him a 5-figure monthly income.

See also an interview with Alang which I did back in 2006 for tips on building an Adsense publishing business.

How To Make Money Blogging in Malaysia

[Edited: Added our Teleseminar 05 to this article and republished it. Sorry for the tech difficulties as I could not access my teleseminar page to answer questions but I do have a good recorded audio version -gk]

One of the most popular ways to make money on the Internet from Malaysia, is blogging. When the Malaysian government or media mention the word “bloggers” they specifically refer to “political bloggers”, but there are many other bloggers out there in Malaysia who do not talk politics. You have to excuse the government for their ignorance – at least they are improving!

There are hundreds of Malaysians who make money online from blogging, and I am one of them. In this article let me explain three of the most popular ways to make money blogging, for the benefit of everyone.

Make Money Blogging with Google AdSense

In my guide called WordPress Adsense System, I explain in detail how this works. Basically, when trying to make money logging with Google Adsense, you need to set-up a blog, put in some content, and generate as much traffic as you can to your blog. From my survey, most Malaysians make money from Google Adsense.

The next step is to get a Google Adsense account and then put the codes (called ad blocks) into your blog. Immediately, the ad blocks will start to show ads that are very related to the content of your blog.

This is because Adsense is known as “contextual advertising”, which means that the program will first read your content, and then decide which ads are the best to show on your blog.

Making money blogging with Adsense is pretty straightforward after that, all you need to do is to get more content, get more links and get more traffic. The best way to get traffic is to make sure your blog posts are ranked highly in search engines like Google and Yahoo.

Although you put Adsense on the blog, you can also sell text link ads or banner ads to add to your blogging income. Plus you can also do any of the two business models below without effecting your Adsense income.

Make Money Blogging With Affiliate Programs

This is covered in my Super Affiliate Blogger course, in which I tell you everything you need to know about making money blogging with affiliate programs. I’ve also covered a lot in my post about the affiliate blogging model. Let me go through the basics here.

First, you need to browse around the Internet and choose a niche market you want to create a blog on. Then, research the Internet to find out if there are enough affiliate programs to support a blog on that topic (usually about 8-10 different affiliate programs) because depending on too little affiliate programs is not a great idea, unless you’re creating a very small blog that is about a certain brand or type of product.

Most of the times, you can find all the affiliate programs you need at a few places like ClickBank, PayDotCom and Comission Junction.

Then, you can start to create new content related to your market and the products you’re promoting. The most important part of making money blogging with affiliate programs is to make sure you can get as much people as possible to click on your affiliate links, and make a sale. To do this you need to make sure you can do two things:

 • Pre-sell your visitors – You need to pre-sell (soft selling) your visitors before sending them to the affiliate link to get more information. This is much, much more effective than putting 20 banners on your website. You can pre-sell in many ways, but the most powerful ways are creating a product review
 • Funnel your traffic – This has everything to do with making sure as many people as possible click on your affiliate link, instead of getting distracted by all the other links and banners on your site. A great way to do this is to use the Super Affiliate WordPress theme I developed for affiliate bloggers.

Make Money Blogging with Paid Posts

This is my least favourite way to make money blogging, simply because this is more like a job and less like a business. However, it is the fastest way to make money blogging as you can earn from the very first article you write. Also, it requires the least amount of marketing skills or SEO knowledge. Perhaps this is the reason why a lot of Malaysians like to do paid reviews and sponsored posts.

With this model, you sign-up for a paid posting network like PayPerPost or paid review networks like ReviewMe and SponsoredReviews, then see what “opportunities” are available.

Opportunities are basically advertising campaigns that other people put into the system. Any blogger that meets the requirements can choose to accept it and get paid whatever amount the advertiser is willing to pay. This can be as low as $5.00 or even as high as USD200 depending on how much traffic and ranking your blog gets.

ppp-opportunity

When you see a request / opportunity that you want to write about, you view the details through the system and then write a blog post about it. Once you’re done you report back to the network and if your post is accepted you’ll be paid the amount of money the opportunity is worth.

While paid posting can help you make money blogging pretty fast, it’s pretty difficult (and time consuming) trying to make a lot of money this way. Plus, at the end of the day if you stop writing you stop making money, so it’s definitely not a long-term strategy as compared to the first two model of making money blogging.

For more information on doing “paid blogging” or “sponsored blogging”, please read my guide on getting paid to blog called Blog Paycheck.

How to Make Money with Affiliate Marketing

[display_podcast]

In our third teleseminar session, we cover everything about making money online with affiliate programs, also termed as affiliate marketing. And what a great call it was, with over 50 participants and although I got disconnected twice and had to call back, we did manage to record all the way to the end of the call except for the last 2 minutes.

Overall, you can learn a lot about affiliate from the existing 42+ minutes of audio. The best way to learn from audio recordings is to play it on your MP3 player /iPod and relax, don’t do anything else while you’re listening except maybe writing down important point on a piece of paper.

Melvin Ng joins in half way as a guest, and helps to give some tips as well as answer some questions about affiliate marketing. Here’s what we discussed in the call:

Malaysia Paypal and Clickbank Solution

[display_podcast]

chapterm In our second teleseminar for all members, I cover the tricky topic of Paypal and Clickbank problems for Malaysians, in detail:

 1. How do I withdraw money from my Paypal account?
 2. How do I sign-up and use Clickbank as they don’t allow Malaysia?

Some of you may remember that in April 2005 I published a book called “Chapter-M”.

I’ve made a lot of money with that ebook, and so have many other people. However, it’s now 2008 and a few things have changed as far as Paypal and Clickbank is concerned.

Listen to the teleseminar where I address the main questions, please take note however that there are other methods that I have not tried and therefore I do not talk about it.

My wish is that all Malaysians would overcome these problems and stop asking the same question over and over again, but sometimes I think it will continue even after I reach 30 :)

UPDATE: Chapter-M has been discontinued. If you’re from Malaysia and want to learn how to use PayPal, here’s the best place to get video tutorials: PayPal Malaysia
