You may have noticed our new design – and you may hate it – but this new design actually represents a complete shift in the future direction of our company.

First of all, the old design had lasted me for almost 3 years and I still have some emotional attachment to it. So I didn’t want to change themes just for the sake of changing themes. I wanted to make a leap forward.

Over the past few months I realized that I was in danger of getting left behind in terms of mobile technology. So I started to study more about designing websites for mobile devices, got myself an iPhone 4S, and tried to catch up.

Although there is way too much hype on mobile marketing, I do understand that it is THE future. As a result my blog is now 100% mobile-friendly.

If you are reading this through a mobile phone, you already know what I mean. If you are on a web browser on your computer, resize this screen as small as possible to see the changes.

Here’s how my blog looks like on my iPhone:

The focus here is not only about readability but also to get optin leads directly from mobile users. That’s why we have such a prominent optin form that works really well for mobile.

Using the awesome StudioPress ‘Generate’ WordPress theme, I have a ‘responsive’ blog design that will match your mobile phone and tablet devices.

And using the awesome WordPress app, I wrote this blog post completely from my iPhone!

So I did manage to catch up a little bit:)

But the bigger challenges lie just around the corner. By the end of this year I want to make all my websites mobile-compatible and even launch a native iOS / Android app for JomNiaga and LinkTrackr.

Imagine getting new sales notification on your mobile phone, or being able to scan and forward QR codes of your affiliate link to your friends!

The possibilities are endless. I may have been slow to figure out mobile marketing, but better late than never!

I’ve said before that I have a new direction for 2010, which will see me moving away from information marketing, and diving head first into software application development.

Now, I can announce the project I’ve been working on for the past 4 months – BlogSell.com

BlogSell is a blog monetization & management software that gives you the tools to make more money from your existing blogs. Currently, BlogSell allows you to:

Manage and track affiliate links

Manage and track affiliate banners

Sell links, banner ads, and paid reviews

And yes, it’s designed to work with WordPress blogs only for now, although integration with Blogger is a future possibility.

Since it is a hosted software (or hosted app), there is no script for you to upload and install to your own server. Everything is done centrally, but you can connect BlogSell to your own WordPress blogs using some simple plugins.

If you are a previous customer of my blogging products – WordPress Adsense System, Super Affiliate Blogger, Blog Paycheck or PLRWPVideos – then you will receive an invitation email by now to be one of the first to signup with for a ridiculously price.

For everyone else, we’ll officially open up registration once we’ve launched Version 1 at the end of March. For now, you can get more information and get access to the demo by going to www.BlogSell.com

Our first project took some time, and I learned a LOT of things in the process. All of which will help me designed even better software applications in the near future.

I just don’ get it – why would you make your entire website, blog and products “closed for business” on the weekends?

The image here is what you’ll see if you visit Mass Automation on a weekend – or to be more precise – the “non-business” hours.

I thought one of the selling points of an online business is that it stays open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ready to generate cash on autopilot.

In the past I have promoted many offers from this site, including Auto Social Poster, Light Pop, Synonymizer, WP Blaster and much more. In fact I’ve made more than $1,500 / month as an affiliate at one point of time.

I stopped promoting those products aggressively, partly due to this “business hours” issue. Everything is completely inaccessible, even the blog and salespages. Its very, very odd that an online marketer would treat his business like that.

Imagine affiliates promoting the products with PPC only to find that any clicks they get on the weekends is completely wasted. As for myself, all I can do is ask my subscribers to try again later when the “store is open”.

I just don’t get it. Maybe you do.

In case many of you have been wondering “What happened to Gobala Krishnan?”, fear not. I’m a live and kicking. Whenever I skip updating my blog with new posts, it usually means I’m working on a new project.

This time around, I’ve created my PLR WordPress Videos membership site where you can get tons of high-quality WordPress / blogging videos with Private Label Rights or PLR. This is great new if you plan to create your own blogging products, run a membership site, or conduct seminars & personal coaching on blogging.

Unlike many membership sites I’ve attempted in the past, I want to keep this simple and make sure I can fulfill my own promises of delivering useful new videos every month related to WordPress, blogging, social media and related stuff.

Membership is pretty flexible, and you pay for what type of source files you want. There are pros and cons of each membership level, which I will explain here:

Silver Member (Beginners) – Basically you get only the Flash files, and you customers can watch the videos online. The good news is that this membership is the cheapest, and most suitable for tons of new Internet marketers. It’s also great as supporting tutorials for your other products. However, you will not be able to cut, edit and mix the videos themselves.

Gold Member (Intermediate) – This is the membership that gives you the most value for money. You get videos in Flash, AVI and other formats. If you are an intermediate level marketer, you would definitely want to offer you customers more download options as not all of them want to watch online videos. It also give you more flexibility as you can package the videos into physical DVDs if you want and sell them that way. Plus, you can also upload them to video hosting websites (provided they require a password) and distribute it that way. You can use them “out of the box” or you can edit the videos themselves, including adding watermarks, logos and much more.

Platinum Members (Advanced) – The ultimate level of video marketing you could want, as you get the source Camtasia Studio files. With the source files you can pretty much do ANYTHING – translate the videos into a different language by adding your own voice over, add subtitles, merge or split videos, add background music, etc. Then, you can also produce these videos into any size, quality and file format you want.

There’s a lot of money in WordPress, and most of revolves around “How to” questions. Not everyone who wants to use WordPress is ready to browse through forums and blogs to find out how to get started, or to do more advanced stuff. That’s where step-by-step “screen cam” video tutorials provide tremendous value.

Plus, you’ll get an edge over other marketers since:

I create all the videos myself, from my 4 years experience with WordPress. Not rehashed materials or reused PLR here.

All the videos you get were actually used by me in some of my best-selling products like WordPress AdSense System and Super Affiliate Blogger. That means I didn’t create them for the sole purpose of selling them to you – which is what most PLR sellers really do! They can’t make any money themselves with the PLR crap they are peddling.

All videos are updated constantly to catch up with all the changes and new versions introduced by WordPress. Other marketers would probably be selling outdated videos showing WordPress version 2.3.

You can request your own videos, and I will add them based on popular demand, This is my way of making sure I give you exactly what you need, and not what I think you need.

Membership is limited, which means that only a small group of people can have access to the videos. Currently the site is in BETA and I’m accepting about 90-100 members only. When memberships are sold out, you can only get in if there are dropouts or if I reopen new slots.

So go ahead and get your PLR WordPress Videos membership today, and you’ll see why I managed to make a full-time living since 2005 just teaching others how to use and master this unique blogging platform.

If you’re using WordPress, I highly recommend you upgrade now to the latest 2.7 version. Unlike most other versions since 2.3, this will be well worth your time. Overall, this version really improved on the user interface, the loading time, and also the ease of use.

Some videos I created about using WordPress 2.7:

Installing WordPress Plugins Automatically

Upgrading WordPress Plugins Automatically

Deleting WordPress Plugins Automatically

However, if you are using the old “Instant Upgrade” plugin, be very careful to remove the plugin according to the instructions before you upgrade. In the case of this blog I forgot I was using the plugin and just went on to upgrade my older WordPress files.

As a result, so many things went wrong that I had to deleted my entire site and install everything again from scratch. That’s why you may have noticed the blog was down and out, for almost two days. I was a nightmare experience and I still have data loss that I am trying to restore.

Besides, with WordPress 2.7 there is an additional feature where you can also upgrade WordPress automatically within the dashboard itself, so future upgrades should be very easy!

If you noticed, for the past few months I’m averaging about 1 post a month, and in fact I didn’t update GobalaKrishnan.com at all in June. Neither did I write a lot for ProfitBlogger.com (formerly know as EasyWordpress.com). So what exactly happened to me?

Was I facing a really tough writer’s block, or did I just give up on updating my personal blog altogether?

A little bit of both actually. When I first started blogging, this was the only blog I had, and I posted everything here. In fact this blog is responsible for most of my life-long customers, subscribers and fans. However along the way I started a blog about how to make money blogging, one on music marketing, and another on MLM tips, and a while later yet another one about Internet business in Malaysia.

After juggling all blogs (with the help of hired bloggers), I started becoming a slave to my own business working 9am to 11pm and yet my income hardly grew. A classic case of stretching yourself too thin; biting off more than you can chew; or whatever you call it.

I lost my direction for GobalaKrishnan.com – I didn’t know what to write here since now I have all those other blogs where I can publish my content to. So I stopped blogging here and all I could do was to publish one or two rather lame post just for the sake of keeping it updated.

But I wasn’t being lazy.

In fact, I was working harder than ever before. The only thing that changed is that I realized with the time I spent on blogging, I could actually create a lot more of my own product which generated much more income. In the last three months I created Super Affiliate Blogger, wrote Blog Paycheck and even managed to update my first successful product you probably already know as WordPress Adsense System.

As a result, in a two week period in May / June I made $10,882.33 from sales of my own products alone, thanks to the great response to Super Affiliate Blogger. Then I followed up with Blog Paycheck less than 30 days later and that too was a hit, bringing my income level for the next month to more than $8,500.00 from the sales of my own products. This means that by introducing those two products I almost tripled my income.

The funny thing is, since August 2006 the only product I had that generated daily sales was WordPress Adsense System and I never tried to even create a follow-up product to that. Instead I spent most of my time blogging, blogging, and blogging even more. A lot of blog post, and lot of “Thank you for the wonderful resource, you’re such a nice guy..”. But not a lot of money.

Which got me into thinking, is it really worthwhile to write 2-3 blog posts a day like some of the big name bloggers do? Do I really need to be a content-generating machine just to keep up? Do I need to give away so much free information, when it’s proven that I can charge for the information, have more time for myself, and yet keep everyone happy?

The answer is: it depends.

I now realize the difference between “having a blog” and “blogging” – at least in my own definition of those terms. Having a blog is good – after all blogs are still one of the best ways to get traffic and search engine rankings. But to be “blogging” day in and day out is not my cup of tea, especially when it becomes more of a chose than a pleasure.

I now have a new strategy to create more sites, make more money, yet spend less time with day-to-day blogging.

What is it? You’ll need to subscribe to my blog about blogging to find out. I’ll be writing about that soon.

This blog will focus more on strategies, experiences and insights on creating products, copywriting, list building, and direct response marketing. That’s what I’m really good at – selling stuff

A lot of work to do, but I’m going to take my time doing it. It’s more fun that way.

[Edited: Added our Teleseminar 05 to this article and republished it. Sorry for the tech difficulties as I could not access my teleseminar page to answer questions but I do have a good recorded audio version -gk]

[display_podcast]

One of the most popular ways to make money on the Internet from Malaysia, is blogging. When the Malaysian government or media mention the word “bloggers” they specifically refer to “political bloggers”, but there are many other bloggers out there in Malaysia who do not talk politics. You have to excuse the government for their ignorance – at least they are improving!

There are hundreds of Malaysians who make money online from blogging, and I am one of them. In this article let me explain three of the most popular ways to make money blogging, for the benefit of everyone.

Make Money Blogging with Google AdSense

In my guide called WordPress Adsense System, I explain in detail how this works. Basically, when trying to make money logging with Google Adsense, you need to set-up a blog, put in some content, and generate as much traffic as you can to your blog. From my survey, most Malaysians make money from Google Adsense.

The next step is to get a Google Adsense account and then put the codes (called ad blocks) into your blog. Immediately, the ad blocks will start to show ads that are very related to the content of your blog.

This is because Adsense is known as “contextual advertising”, which means that the program will first read your content, and then decide which ads are the best to show on your blog.

Making money blogging with Adsense is pretty straightforward after that, all you need to do is to get more content, get more links and get more traffic. The best way to get traffic is to make sure your blog posts are ranked highly in search engines like Google and Yahoo.

Although you put Adsense on the blog, you can also sell text link ads or banner ads to add to your blogging income. Plus you can also do any of the two business models below without effecting your Adsense income.

Make Money Blogging With Affiliate Programs

This is covered in my Super Affiliate Blogger course, in which I tell you everything you need to know about making money blogging with affiliate programs. I’ve also covered a lot in my post about the affiliate blogging model. Let me go through the basics here.

First, you need to browse around the Internet and choose a niche market you want to create a blog on. Then, research the Internet to find out if there are enough affiliate programs to support a blog on that topic (usually about 8-10 different affiliate programs) because depending on too little affiliate programs is not a great idea, unless you’re creating a very small blog that is about a certain brand or type of product.

Most of the times, you can find all the affiliate programs you need at a few places like ClickBank, PayDotCom and Comission Junction.

Then, you can start to create new content related to your market and the products you’re promoting. The most important part of making money blogging with affiliate programs is to make sure you can get as much people as possible to click on your affiliate links, and make a sale. To do this you need to make sure you can do two things:

Pre-sell your visitors – You need to pre-sell (soft selling) your visitors before sending them to the affiliate link to get more information. This is much, much more effective than putting 20 banners on your website. You can pre-sell in many ways, but the most powerful ways are creating a product review

Funnel your traffic – This has everything to do with making sure as many people as possible click on your affiliate link, instead of getting distracted by all the other links and banners on your site. A great way to do this is to use the Super Affiliate WordPress theme I developed for affiliate bloggers.

Make Money Blogging with Paid Posts

This is my least favourite way to make money blogging, simply because this is more like a job and less like a business. However, it is the fastest way to make money blogging as you can earn from the very first article you write. Also, it requires the least amount of marketing skills or SEO knowledge. Perhaps this is the reason why a lot of Malaysians like to do paid reviews and sponsored posts.

With this model, you sign-up for a paid posting network like PayPerPost or paid review networks like ReviewMe and SponsoredReviews, then see what “opportunities” are available.

Opportunities are basically advertising campaigns that other people put into the system. Any blogger that meets the requirements can choose to accept it and get paid whatever amount the advertiser is willing to pay. This can be as low as $5.00 or even as high as USD200 depending on how much traffic and ranking your blog gets.

When you see a request / opportunity that you want to write about, you view the details through the system and then write a blog post about it. Once you’re done you report back to the network and if your post is accepted you’ll be paid the amount of money the opportunity is worth.

While paid posting can help you make money blogging pretty fast, it’s pretty difficult (and time consuming) trying to make a lot of money this way. Plus, at the end of the day if you stop writing you stop making money, so it’s definitely not a long-term strategy as compared to the first two model of making money blogging.

For more information on doing “paid blogging” or “sponsored blogging”, please read my guide on getting paid to blog called Blog Paycheck.

If you’re from Malaysia, do also check out Rahsia ClickBank for the best system to make money from ClickBank.
