35 Ways To Get Links to Your Blog

Want to get more links to your blog, improve your WordPress SEO, get more traffic and make lots of money? Here are some ways you can do that with little or no money.

  1. Leave Blog Comments – Yes, this still works. Jus find related blogs and participate in the comments. Make sure your comments are relevant or it will probably be deleted. Although most blogs have the “no-follow” tag attached to a commenter’s URL, it still helps you in terms of direct traffic, more exposure and other stuff.
  2. Do Trackbacks – Trackbacks, just like leaving a comment, can get you more traffic and links to your blog. If you and the blog you’re linking to is using WordPress, a trackback should happen naturally. Otherwise you may want to manually use the “Trackback” feature in WP.
  3. Link Exchange – Start a small link exchange with your WordPress blog, choosing a handful of high-quality partners to begin with. Use a 3-way link exchange if you have more than one blog.
  4. Trade Blogrolls – You may also want to manually look for blogroll partners. Linking up with several high-quality blogs may help in your SEO cause more than you can imagine.
  5. Use Forum Signatures – Participate in any forum regularly? Make sure you take advantage of forums that allow you to leave a signature. Choose the correct anchor words for your blog, and create a simple but powerful signature to your blog or website.
  6. Use Email Signatures – Although email signatures don’t help with SEP, it can get you a lot of real-world fans and loyal readers. Just enter a good signature in your Gmail or Yahoo Mail. If your blog appeals to a mass market, this can sometimes be one of your best marketing methods, and it’s so easy to do there’s almost no excuse if you’re not already doing it.
  7. Submit Articles – Submitting articles is an classic, text-book method of getting more links to your blog. However, dues to concerns on duplicate content, you perhaps need a better solution. Try JetSubmiter or Article Marketing Automation to make sure every article you submit is unique, therefore you get more recognized back links with just a little extra effort.
  8. Submit Blog Content – You can also use FirePow or 1 Way Links to submit the same article as blog content, and have thousands of blogs out there link back to yours. This strategy is very powerful for niche blogs.
  9. Be a Guest Blogger – Sign-up as a guest blogger for a real, authoritative blog, and with every post you submit you should also be getting a link back to your site. Many sites including WordPress Hacks, Blogging Tips etc openly advertise for guest bloggers. Some don’t, but you can always ask the blog owner.
  10. 3 Way Links – Use Jonathan Leger’s service; it works and I can prove it. I’ve had a few sites link first page in Google for smaller keyword terms using just this one tool. You can get a few hundred back links worth it.
  11. Publish Videos – Publish videos in YouTube, but make sure you include your website URL (example http://profitblogger.com) in the description field of each video. See this video of mine for example. Although the links are no-follow, its still recognized as a back link by Yahoo and MSN, and hopefully Google too. You can automate videos submissions too if you want using Traffic Geyser.
  12. Post A (Fake) Classified Ad – Go to USFreeAds.com and post a fake classifieds, syndicate to all their partner sites if possible. Although you have nothing to sell, you can always sell “advertising” on your blog if you get what I mean. Good opportunity to link back to your blog so your potential “advertisers” can see where their money will be spent. What is someone actually contacts you for an ad spot? Take it!
  13. Submit Press Release – Submit a press release using PrWeb.com and syndicate to as many sites as you can afford.
  14. Publish a Book – A book? Although it has nothing to do with online marketing, it can establish you as an expert in your field and people would start linking to your pages spontaneously.
  15. Write an e-book – Similar to writing a book, this time write an e-book or information product. If you think it’s going to be hard work you can also use the audio interview product creation method.
  16. Recruit Affiliates – When you have an ebook or digital products, you can start to recruit affiliates to promote for you. In comes the back links from thousands of different websites, and you’ll probably be making a lot of money in the process too.
  17. Hold a Contest – Hold a blog contest, a Christmas giveaway of anything where you can give something to your readers for very little effort on their part.
  18. Join A Blog Carnival – A blog “carnival” is simply a collection of conversations on the same topic. If someone has written a post, he can start a carnival and invite other bloggers to post their own ideas and arguments, while linking to all the other posts in that particular carnival.
  19. Start a Blog Meme – A blog “meme” is more like a game of “tag”, and while I used to see this quite often it doesn’t seem so popular anymore. Basically you can just start a post like “10 Things About Myself You Didn’t Know” or “How I Started Blogging” – anything that is personal – and then at the bottom of your post you “tag” a few people, linking to their blogs. These people then have to write their version of the same post, linking both to you (the person who tagged them) and a few other people they want to tag. Dome properly it can get you a lot of back links, but it all depends on the availability and willingness of the people you tag to play along.
  20. Content Thieves – Let people steal your content. Actually I say that because there’s not much you can do about it. But the good news is that in almost 90% of the cases the copied article will link back to your original version. Plus, make sure each article you write has several “deep links” pointing to previous posts (like what I’m doing here), so even if the assholes steal one article from you they end up linking back to a few of your articles. Google will recognize your article as the original with all these links pointing back to it.
  21. Buy Text Links – Got some cash? Head on over to Text Link Ads and buy some links on popular blogs. Expect to pay a lot of money monthly for a single site-wide link, but you can also show for post-level links which are cheaper and more targeted.
  22. Buy a Sponsored Review – Similar to buying a link with Text Link Ads, but this time the links are permanent. You can signup as an advertiser with SponsoredReviews.com and order a review. A few bloggers may take up your opportunity depending on how much you want to pay. They then write a review about your blog, linking back to it. Very powerful for non-competitive markets.
  23. Buy a Sponsored Post – Similar to sponsored reviews, but this time is can be any post instead of a “review”. You can announce a good post, a new resource, or a new product. Signup as an advertiser with Pay Per Post and post your opportunity. I think you can still get links as low as $5 / blog. (note: you can also make money from PPP and other paid blogging services as a blogger)
  24. Add a Web Directory – Get a software like PHP Link Directory or PHP Pro Bid and add a web directory to your existing blog. You can initially let webmasters submit their links for free, and when you have enough bulk you can start charging a low fee for each link they submit.
  25. Use Yahoo Answers – It’s like a forum, but not quite. People go here to get help and directions for their problems. Search for questions related to your market, and give honest solutions, including links to other people’s blogs and most importantly, yours too!
  26. Build Squidoo Lenses – A “Squidoo Lens” is a one-page comprehensive resource about a topic. The trick is to make each lens as good as possible in just one page. Create a new lens based on a keyword suitable to your blog, and list the best resources for that keyword including links to your affiliate programs and your blog.
  27. Build Free Satellite Blogs – This is a concept used more often in autopilot blogs than in normal blogs, but it’s still useful. Build “satellite” blogs using BlogSpot or on WordPress.com and link keywords in articles back to your main blogs
  28. Links in Your Flickr Account – If you have an active Flickr account, you make also want to include links to your blog in the photo descriptions. You can also comment on other people’s photos, similar to commenting on a blog.
  29. Start a “group writing project” – Darren Rowse does this a lot, and by starting one you can get a lot of good links to your blog. In fact, you can also just participate in one and can still get a fair amount of “goodwill” links.
  30. Join a blog network – This is going for top-quality links. Attach your blog to a network like 9 Rules, WebLogs Inc or other similar networks, and watch as your blog gets linked form almost every other blog in their network. Of course this is one of the hardest ways to get your blog linked, as only the best blogs are every accepted. Besides, the idea of “blog networks” isn’t as popular now as it used to be a few years back.
  31. Create free WordPress themes – Works like magic, and if you create a really good WordPress theme you can have thousands of links not only from new sites, but from established ones as well. A link back to the theme creator at the bottom of each theme is pretty much widely accepted and tolerated, but keep it to just one link to be professional. You can get a theme created in RentACoder or Elance for less than $200, and make sure you list it in the WordPress themes directory after you comply to their terms.
  32. Create free website / blog templates – Just like WordPress themes, you can also create PHP Link directory skins, BlogSpot templates, normal website templates, Joomla Templates, and much more. Just look for any CMS / website building solution out there that allows changing themes and allows third-party themes.
  33. Get a Twitter account – Twitter, use it. Get an account and make sure you install the WordPress plugin for Twitter which posts all your latest post automatically.
  34. Social bookmarking – Old, but still relevant. Not a hot topic anymore these days but as long as people use services like Delicious and Digg, getting a link from them are also important. Use Auto Social Poster to automate your bookmarking, or do it manually. Also make sure you have some good social bookmarking plugins to encourage others to save your pages. You can also outsource your social bookmarking.
  35. Write a link bait article – Spend some time writing an article that other people would be too lazy to duplicate, and as a result they would just link to yours. Do a “Top X” post link this, or even a great tutorial series. This works much, much better if your readers have their own blogs :)

Autopilot Blogging: Blogging Models That Work!

In this 3-part series, we take a look at the top 3 blogging models that work; authority blogging, niche blogging and autopilot blogging. No matter what type of blog you’re building right now, you surely fall into one of these three.

This time we’ll talk about auto-pilot blogging. Some people call it “spam blogging”, but I don’t. I think autopilot blogging is just as viable a model to make money online as the other two. It’s just how you do it that makes the difference.

Autopilot Blogging

autopilot-blogging

Over a year ago, people used RSS to blog, WP-O-Matic and other similar services to “scrape” content from RSS feeds of other blogs and post it to their own as content. Most people only used a summary of the post, which can still be tolerated.

I mean, isn’t that the same thing Technorati, PlugIM and thousands of other syndication services do?

But then came a different breed of people, who copied your entire blog post including images. That really pissed people off. Unfortunately, if you’re an authority blogger there will always be someone stealing your content.

Here’s how this model breaks down:

  • Visibility Level: Low
  • Effort Level: Low
  • Time to Profit: Medium
  • Technical Level: High
  • Expected Rewards: Medium

Visibility level is low because you never (ever) put your name or contact details on autopilot blogs. In fact most autopilot blogs have nothing more than scraped content and ads.

Effort level is low too, as the automation software basically does everything else once you set it up. Technical level is high, as you need to learn how to use a couple of software first before you can do this. Plus, you’ll also need to understand C-class IPs, web hosting and so much more.

Expected rewards is low, but the trick here is that while one blog may only make a few dollars a month for you, a hundred blog can surely give you the income you want. Then again, it takes a certain amount of technical expertise to manage a few hundred blogs, doesn’t it?

Is Autopilot Blogging for You?

autoblog-example

I know auto-pilot blogging sounds appealing, but from my research it takes a certain type of individual to really make money from autopilot blogging. I am NOT that type of person.

Basically, if you accept and love the challenge of “mass production”, learning technical software and systems, and can command an army, then auto-pilot blogging is for you. Plus, you must be able to switch on “creative thinking” only as long as you need to find a formula that works. When you’ve found it, you need to switch off creativity and focus solely on duplication.

Again, I simply cannot do that. Repetitive tasks are just not for me. I question everything and always think “How can I change that?”.

Make no mistake: although everyone can learn a thing or two about planning and automation from this type of blogging model, you’ll only be making spare change with just a handful of blogs. What does it take to make a LOT of money?

Well a friend of mine used to have more than 1,000,000 BlogSpot blogs – or so he says. Yes, let me say that again: 1,000,000 blogs

The number itself is mind-boggling, but considering he was using in-house software that costs thousands to develop and had a team of worker bees building 100 blogs a day, it’s not entirely impossible.

However, according to him it’s all about “fire fighting”, or solving problems. That’s because while you’re making thousands of blogs other people are trying to shut you down, stop you from manipulating their system and so on.

Considering he was making five figures a month from Google AdSense alone, I assume it was still worth the try. However, eventually it gets tiring. In the case of my friends he has slowly moved away from the autopilot blogging model into other areas of Internet marketing.

Although hardcore autopilot money-making is not everyone’s cup of tea, it does result in the creation of a lot of interesting software we can all use. For example, all these software is the result for the need to automate and mass-generate:

  • Auto Social Poster – WordPress plugin that enables you to automatically submit your blog’s latest entry to many social bookmarking sites
  • WordPress Cloner – Clone your WP themes, plugins and setting to hundreds of other blogs
  • Ninja Affiliate for WordPress – Ok this wasn’t strictly developed for auto-pilot blogging, but it fits in very nicely.
  • 1 Way Links Network – Automate link building, get one-way links to your blog
  • And much more..

From my research, auto-pilot blogging isn’t really that difficult to figure out – there’s a certain process in almost all successful cases:

Find a way to make money using blogs and content already available online – it could be from other blogs, Yahoo Answers, or any other easily copied source

  • Study the process and identify all the key components, simplify as much as possible
  • Find the tools to make automation possible, preferably develop that software in-house
  • Using your automation software and your process, mass generate your results to a point where you make a lot of money

So, is this for you? Are you already making a decent amount of money from auto-pilot blogging? Leave a comment and let us know..

How to Redirect Affiliate Links Using cPanel

In the previous article I showed you how to redirect affiliate links using simple HTML. Now lets look at the second option – creating “redirects” in your Cpanel administration area.

To do this, please make sure that you have a web hosting with cPanel installed. Then login to your cPanel account and click on “Redirects”. The process is quite similar to creating a www redirect but this time you’ll be using your affiliate links.

So make sure you have the correct affiliate link.

In this example I will be using this affiliate link: http://winniche.gobala.hop.clickbank.net which leads to my own product on ClickBank. I would enter something like this in the configuration section.

cpanel redirect affiliate links

You can basically enter any file name you want. You can put a /go/ or /recommends/ followed by the product name. Then just enter the actual affiliate link, select “redirect with or without www” and click on “Add”. Your redirect link should now be functioning.

NOTE: This method will not work properly if you are using WordPress or other CMS that uses a .htaccess file to manage access permissions.

If you are using WordPress, then these are your options:

  1. Create a sub-domain, and use the sub-domain instead when creating cPanel redirects – so that would make your redirect links something like http:// track.gobalakrishnan.com/recommends/product
  2. Use the Ninja Affiliate plugin for WordPress, it does a much better job of managing and cloaking your affiliate links
  3. Create basic HTML redirects instead, or PHP redirects
  4. Get another domain name for the purpose of redirecting affiliate links

Resources for Building Your First Mini-Site

Ok I guess the most important question most people would have is, what is a “mini” site and how is it different from any other type of website?

Firstly, a “mini site” serves a very specific niche market, and delivers very specific content, usually in the form of a membership. Mini-sites are not like blogs or other type of content sites; they sell access to the information within. A mini-site can have at bare minimum two pages; the sales page and the download page. Larger minisites may have more pages but generally its not above 10 pages.

Although mini sites do benefit from search engine traffic, it is not the most important factor. Since all the really good content is behind closed doors, Google will never be able to index it and give it a favorable search engine ranking. Therefore if you want to create and sell minisites, you need affiliates – and LOTS of them. Knowledge in PPC or Pay Per Click marketing helps as well, especially when your site is new and you don’t already own a list you can market to.

The most important part of any minisite, besides the content, is the sales page. You need to understand how to write basic sales copy that sells, and also arm yourself with a lot of sales page graphics and other images you can use to make your copy look appealing. Creating a pure-text sales copy is a big mistake, but most people still do it.

gimpOf course, in the long run you’ll also want to learn basic image creation and image editing skills to help lower the cost of creating minisites. Although Photoshop is the best option if you can afford it, you can also use GIMP (www.gimp.org) as an alternative.

With basic GIMP tutorials you can get all the skills you need as far as marketing minisites is concerned, but you probably can’t make use of cool stuff like e-cover scripts and templates that can only be used in Photoshop.

Here are some other resources for building minisites:

  • iStockPhoto.com – Get images / icons / illustrations to design or complement your minisite
  • SnagIt.com – Create screenshots of images and websites, very useful when creating more technically-oriented information products
  • Amember – Create secured members area, multiple-level memberships, and recurring-payment memberships

Niche Blogging: Blogging Models That Work!

So you want to make money online, but still struggling to find the wind beneath your wings? What type of blogger are you really, and how do WordPress and blogs fit onto your profile as an Internet marketer?

In previous posts I have talked about becoming an authority blogger, where you take the lead in a niche market and become the “go to guy” that every one wants to talk about. But if that type of blogging is not your cup of tea, maybe “niche blogging” is!

The Niche Blogging Model

niche-blogging Niche blogging is very different. When people say “niche blogging” they usually mean creating blogs in other niches besides the one they are already blogging on as an authority blogger.

Niche blogging is simple using WordPress as a CMS, adding a pre-defined number of content (say 50 articles), and tying it all up with a static front page.

  • Visibility Level: Low
  • Effort Level: High
  • Time to Profit: Low
  • Technicality: Medium
  • Risk Level: Medium
  • Potential Rewards: Medium / High

Visibility level is low, and you mainly depend on search engine traffic to make money. No one needs to know who you are. However, sometimes niche bloggers may publish some sort of contact information, payment links etc that makes them “involved” in their market.Effort level is just as high as authority blogging, although the type of work is different. Niche bloggers create new blogs all the time instead of focusing on one blog.Time to profit is shorter, as typically if you can set-up a good niche blog and signup for 3-Way Links or 1-Way Links (both by Jonathan Leger), you can basically let your blog traffic grow organically and watch AdSense income trickle in within the first week.Technicality level is not much different from authority blogging. Same skills, just applied differently.Risk level is lower, since you’re spreading it over many blogs in many niche markets. If one blog fails to get traffic it does not effect you as much, as long as there are other blogs that succeed. However the danger is when you lose focus, and instead spend too much time doing everything else than creating new blogs.

Reward level is perhaps not as high as authority blogging, but still very good. Since you are dependent on search engine traffic and advertising / affiliate products, you need to build more sites if you want to increase your income. I know a lot of people who not only survive, but make a six-figure income building niche blogs. Some blogs they keep, others they sell for a profit.

Is Niche Blogging for You?

Is this the type of blogging you want to do? I think the key characteristics of someone who can succeed with this type of blogging are:

    1. The ability to set goals and deadlines, and stick to them
    2. The skills to build sites quickly, while making it look decent enough
    3. Not too fussy about the aesthetics of their blogs – they just want the traffic
    4. The ability to take a “”formula” and apply it daily till it’s perfected
    5. Interested in exploring new niche markets instead of just sticking to what you know
    6. Ability to organize a small group of people and coordinate their work
    7. Ability to teach and pass on technical knowledge / instructions easily

I think point number 6-7 are the most important. If you’re creating niche blogs every day, they you most definitely have to outsource many aspects of site building, design, content writing and SEO. You need to be able to communicate and teach people what you know and how you prefer to do things

Authority Blogging: Blogging Models That Work!

So you want to make money blogging?

How much do you understand about the different blogging models, really? I’m not talking about monetization models – that’s a completely different subject. How you make money from a blog is independent from how you build and market that blog.

In this 3-part mini series, let me give you a short but useful introduction to the top three blogging models: authority blogging, niche blogging, and autopilot blogging. Of course our discussions will completely ignore the other blogging model: blogging for fun – since I believe that’s not why you’re reading this blog right now.

If you buy any blogging ebook, software or attend a blogging seminar, everything you’ll learn will fall into these three categories.

Is Authority Blogging For You?

authority-blogging This blogging model is perhaps the most common.

90% of all blogging tips out there teach you how to become an “authority” blogger’ someone who commands respect, is recognized as an expert, and frequently writes great content for his blog.

Almost every blog we frequently visit are run by authority bloggers. They know the “inside scoop”; they have the best answers and they are a sea of information on whatever topic they blog about.

An “authority” blogger in almost all cases can only be perceived as an authority in one, at most two, unrelated markets. The scope is limiting, but besides just money this path promises you fame, recognition and also die-hard fans.

Here’s how this blogging model breaks down:

  • Visibility Level: High
  • Effort Level: Medium
  • Time to Profit: High
  • Technicality: Medium
  • Risk Level: High
  • Potential Rewards: High

Visibility level is high, because if you want to be recognized as an expert you need to put up pictures of yourself, reveal your FaceBook or Twitter profile, and even do some videos or podcasts.

People need to see your face. They need to know you so they can trust you and ultimately, do business with you.

Effort level is also high, since you need to constantly put up relevant blog posts daily (or every few days). Besides just writing new blog posts, you need to go the extra mile if you want to be recognized as a true authority. Talk about podcasts, interviews, and videos.

Time to profit is high because you need to blog for a long time before anyone would recognize you and want to put ads on your site.

However, this is only true for the advertising monetization model. You can make money much faster if:

  • You already have a solid product or service, and you’re just building your brand
  • You have an ebook, software or other information product to sell
  • You are the author of a book, or currently writing one

Technicality required is medium – just an ordinary WordPress blog will do. The key here is content, not the gadgets. However, you still need to have great technical skills or knowledge in the filed that you want to dominate.

An authority blogger also doesn’t need to spend as much time figuring out keyword research, PageRank or SEO tactics. All he or she needs to do is write to communicate, and focus on long-tail keywords, referral traffic and residual traffic from social bookmarking.

Risk level is high, in my opinion, because if you follow this strategy you need to put all your eggs in one basket. What if your blog doesn’t quite catch on? What if after months of blogging, you find it difficult (if not impossible) to monetize your blog?

If however, you succeed, then the rewards you get will be the best. You can make money not only from advertising, but by selling even more information products from your blog, speaking engagements, physical books, and perhaps even product commercials. I’m not kidding – a lot of hot female bloggers achieve some sort of semi-celebrity status, and are sought after even by large multi-national companies.

If you want to be an authority blogger, then the most important question to ask is “Can I be an authority figure in this market?”

If the answer is “No”, then no matter how hard you try your blog will not be one of the best. There will always be other experts who know more than you do, have better connections, have access to insider information, and so on.

Anyways, even an authority blogger can only be an authority in one or two markets. Trying to build an authority blog in more than 2 markets is too time-consuming. Because you are the authority and have a certain style of writing, you cannot outsource your content or marketing as much as you could with niche blogging or autopilot blogging.

Becoming an authority blogger is a full-time affair. Sometimes it can feel like you’re stuck to it, but if you really love your topic, work seems like fun. I think that’s the key to becoming an authority blogger – love what you do.

So, is authority blogging your cup of tea? Or do you just want to make more money online an don’t care about the recognitions or fame?

Embed YouTube Videos Easily With Windows Live Writer

image

It’s already pretty easy to embed video into your WordPress blog. You can also use video plugins for YouTube which have some advanced features.

So why not I show you yet another way to do it, using Windows Live Writer. Unlike other methods, this one makes it just a little bit easier as it gives you direct YouTube-to-WordPress publishing. You don’t even need to copy and paste your video ID or URL.

There’s a built-in preview window in WLW. All you need to do is enter your YouTube user name and password to get a list of all the videos in your account. Each video is displayed with a short summary; just click on the ones you want to include in your blog, and you’re done!

WLW currently supports YouTube and SoapBox, as well as embedding videos directly from your PC or web URL.

If you’re big into using videos, you also want to check out the Traffic Geyser video automation tool, the FLV WordPress plugin and the best blog writing /editing tools.

How to Redirect Affiliate Links- Simple HTML

Affiliate marketing can be one of the simplest forms of making money online – just get traffic to your links and when a sale is made, you make money.

But if you want to get serious about it, there are other things you may want to do. For example, all serious affiliates mask or cloak their affiliate links. This not only allows them to appear more professional, but also prevents “commission hijacking”.

The easiest way to mask affiliate links is by using HTML “refresh” in the meta section of your HTML document.

So for example, let’s say I want to promote WordPress Adsense System by Gobala Krishnan. Here is my naked ClickBank affiliate link:

Let’s say I want to change it, so when I give out a link it will look something like this:

imageWhat I needs to do is create a folder in my web server and name it “recommends”. Within this folder you save all your HTML files, each file represents one product that you are promoting. In this case, I will create a new HTML file and save it as “wordpressadsense.html”

Now, using DreamWeaver I can just click on the Insert > HTML > Head Tags > Refresh and I’ll see a window like this:

image

Select “0” seconds to make the page redirect immediately, and enter the actual affiliate link as the “Go to URL”. Your HTML codes will look something like this:

<head>
<title>Untitled Document</title>
<meta http-equiv=”Refresh” content=”0;URL=http://winniche.gobala.hop.clickbank.net” />
</head>

Now you can link directly to that page when promoting, for example www.yoursite.com/recommends/wordpressadsense.html and it will automatically redirect to your affiliate link. Simple, but it works.

How to Create Your Own Ebook Covers

I’ve just uploaded a video on creating your own e-book covers. A lot of people know that I generally design all my ebook covers, not because I’m cheap but because I want to create some sort of branding effect. But of course, it IS much cheaper than to pay someone else to do it.

You can get the same scripts I am using, called “action scripts” for Photoshop at www.OneClickEcovers.com – just enter the coupon code GKDOTCOM to get $10 off. Here’s the video:

If that version is not clear enough, you can also watch the ones I have on Vimeo or the Daily Motion version.

Of course, just because you have the scripts don’t mean that you can create good looking covers – you need some basic tactics as well. The One Click Ecovers package also comes with it’s own tutorials, but let me explain briefly here how to do it:

  1. Decide what cover you want – ebook, reports, ezine, software box or DVD box?
  2. Get a good background image from www.istockphoto.com or other free stock photos sites
  3. Keep your designs simple if you’re not that good in Photoshop
  4. Make 3 different sizes of your e-cover to make sure you can use it anywhere
  5. I prefer to save the images as PNG for better quality but you can save it as JPG if you want

Related tools: create PDF ebooks, video mass-submission software

Pictures from The January 2009 Mastermind

Among all the other mastermind sessions we’ve had so far, I think yesterday’s mastermind was different. It felt different somehow, as the members are probably pretty good friends by now.

It felt more laid back and relaxed, and there was more discussions between members this time around. Also, my friend Kidino made a guest appearance :)

Too bad I had to leave early in time for my author’s talk at MPH Mid Valley, but I was really a bit reluctant to go. You see, Internet marketing can get quite boring at times. Same venue at Starbucks Jaya One.

It’s a nice quiet place, although I don’t think it will stay quiet for that much longer.
