The theme is XHTML Standards Compliant and works in Firefox and Internet Explorer. The background has a simple diamond pattern in shades of grey.

Translate Your Blog For More Profit

How do you multiply your search engine traffic by 10 without writing any new content?

Translation!

Since there are fewer foreign language pages in the search engines, that means there’s less competition, so getting your pages indexed in other languages gives you the advantage. You instantly multiply the content of your blog or website to 10, simply by translating existing content.

If you’re monetizing with Google Adsense, then you’ll be relieved by the fact that the same Adsense codes you have right now will also show ads in the translated language.

One of the best translation scripts available in the market is the one by Jonathan Leger called Translation Gold, which translates your blog into 9 major languages.

The software will translate up to about 1800 words per page, which is far more than enough for 99% of content pages. If a page is longer than roughly 1800 words, the remaining words after the 1800 will not be translated. This is a minor limitation, and should adequately cover all pages you have right now.

Simple Festive Theme

Festive Theme will bring the Christmas cheer straight into your blog, featuring a santa-hat adorned boxer dog in the header. Above the header is the search feature, and below the entire blog is inside a white area. The Theme has two columns and is fixed width, the sections in the sidebar sport modern rounded corners and there are red and navy highlights throughout.

The sidebar has all the necessaries; archives, categories, meta, etc and the main section has a simple set up for the blog entries and comment. Just in time to put up for advent.

Green Two Column Theme

I love Green is a Two column theme in, as you may have expected, shades of green. The background is diagonally striped light/dark green while the actual blog area is white with green writing and highlights. Navigation is a dark grey bar below the header, with green mouse overs on the links.

The header is a simple image of a tree, with the blog title beside it in black. The theme is fixed width, with two columns and is XHTML Standards Compliant.

Plugin: Encrypt WordPress Contact Forms

Subrosa allows quick, simple and safe encryption of all your WordPress contact forms easily. It is known to work with legacy WP Contact Form and with Contact Form ][, and should work with others.

Installation is easy, shown in eight simple steps on the download page, and the effects can be seen on the contact form for the site. The plugin is also available in German.

Widgetised October Special Theme

I’ve not gone crazy- I realise that it’s November. However, the genius that is Derek Pulsalan has released a widgetised version of his well loved Pink October theme, namely October Special. Featuring many choices of header colours, which you can choose in the WordPress Dashboard and a magazine style layout, the theme is yet another fantastic release from the well loved 531.

The theme is split into the main section in white, where the blog and important sidebar elements such as a Colophon, Syndication or ads are displayed. Underneath in the dark grey section are categories, archives, comments, the search bar or recent blogs- all depending on which page you may be on. The main navigation is a thick grey bar at the top of the screen, underneath which is the coloured header displaying your blog name, a secondary title- 531 uses Derek’s name- and a space for a quote. A wonderful creation just got that bit better.

Simple, Pale Theme

Bon Bon Snow Bunny 1.0 is a new theme featuring a cartoon figure named “Bon Bon” in wintry white and blue hues. The Theme is fixed width, two columns and simple- a possibility to show off the inner child in you during the winter months. The spotted background is a little harsh on the eyes at first, but the theme is fairly well made, though some might wish for slightly wider columns (they come in at approximately 350px and 160px).

The theme has valid XHTML and CSS and works in Firefox and mostly in IE (sometimes the sidebar jumps down below the main text, but this is easily resolved). A nice touch is the gradients on the sidebar and textareas, which gives the theme a very modern theme alongside a simple but effective childish feeling. Sometimes it’s just nice to be a little immature.

Subscribe To Comments Plugin Update

Subscribe to Comments 2.1 is a soon-to-be update for the well loved Subscribe plugin which became an instant hit back in the days of WordPress 1.2- and it’s soon to be better than ever. The overall plugin allows commenters to subscribe to Email Updates on comments left on a blog, to keep up with any discussion they may have entered into, and keep up on the topic on your site.

New in this version will be an incredibly handy single file install- simply upload the plugin, activate and you’re away- and a backend list of all subscribers and their email addresses, plus what they’ve subscribed to. A comment doesn’t even have to be made on the site to subscribe to email updates. Is there any wonder so many people love this plugin so dearly?

Dark, Bold Two Column Theme

iAriejan is a striking white on black theme with support for the Ajax Comments and WP Wetfloor plugins (both are included in the download file). The theme features two columns with a very simple black background and all white text.

Overall this is a nicely set out, eye catching and simple theme. There’s nothing much to it except for the plain and simple (and highly important) fact that it just works.

Purple Flower Theme

If there was ever a theme that demanded attention, it was Flower from r9studio dot com. Certainly the heavily patterned purple background might induce a headache or two, particularly in high resolutions, because there’s just so much of it. Aside from that, the theme is nicely set out, two column, purple on white with a purple orchid header.

The navigation works well as a purple bar underneath the header, and the bullet and spacer images add a nice touch to the theme. There’s nothing special or outstanding about this theme, but it’s something different for a personal blog, or possibly a florist.
